Once in a while, when you eat out you encounter something so memorable, not simply because of the good food, but more because of the overall experience. This French cafe is such a place, and a real hidden gem on Union Street in Pasadena. The owner and staff greeted us with a warm welcome immediately as we walked in. We were able to sit inside with our little dog and felt as if we were temporarily transported back in France. The crepes were delicious. We had crepes in Paris and these tasted just like those you find in France. The vegan avocado toast was also very tasty and healthy. We ran out of room but otherwise would have loved to try also their baked goods especially the caneles. What we enjoyed the most was the personal touch and our conversation with the owner, who moved from Bordeaux in France a few years ago to Pasadena to follow the American dream and start their own business. The food offered is made with care by ingredients imported from France and one can taste the difference. Price is a bit high, but reasonable given that it’s a family-run small business that use high-quality imported ingredients.

Decided to stop by and try the canelés, and I’m really glad I did. They were fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth it. The service was awesome too. The guy helping me was really cool and friendly. They had the France vs. Norway game on, but he still took the time to help me out and never made me feel rushed. If you’re in Pasadena and want to try a good French café, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out. I’ll for sure be coming back.

Finally tried the authentic French toast (Brioche Perdue)! That’s amazingly delicious but you may need to share with friends. A bit heavy for a girl. Staff are really nice and pretty. Good start at Pasadena

I came here for brunch. It was my first visit, and the owner gave me a canele on the house, which was a nice surprise. Fresh avocado toast had fresh ingredients, and there was plenty of avocado. Ham and cheese croissant was served warm, and the cheese was nicely melted. The cafe has a cute vibe and is a good place for brunch. The owner was also very kind, which made the visit even better. I would come back again.

Such a cute French cafe! We were visiting Old Pasadena and this place was recommended by a local couple, so we decided to try it. The owner was very welcoming and explained everything on the menu. She even offered vegetarian alternatives. The food was really good. We tried the avocado toast, croissant sandwich, and a pesto chicken sandwich. Out of the three, the pesto sandwich was the best and most savoury. The service was great and there was no wait.
